This appealing 89 watt LED light utilizes almost 40% less energy than regular bulbs and won't need changed for at least ten years - it has a remarkable 50,000 hour lifespan. The lighting system also has a thermal protector that automatically shuts down the lighting if the temperature rises too high, or if the four cooling fans stop working, and turns back on when temperatures drop to a safe level. Simply unsnap the old canopy from the two hinges on the rear of the tank and snap the new LED canopy into the hinges. Cheap parts
I bought one of these upgrade canopies. At first the actual lighting is bright and the blue lights are cool effects at night. the lighting is good but everything else is horrible. The noise from the four fans is awful. I can hardly stand being in the same room. The LED lights and fan combination still does not keep the water cool enough and you will need ether an external fan or a $400 chiller to keep the temperature down. After 5 months two LED strips went out. They replaced under warranty which took a week to process and they did not tell me that removing the LED strips would disable the other LED strips. Luckily I had my old canopy otherwise everything would be dead due to the ignorance of the JBJ customer service. Now, I replaced the LED and the transformer has gone bad a connector has broken. Three days later they have not even begun to process my RMA and my coral is dead. Believe me JBJ sucks for all of their products and their support is horrible.
