I received my 24-36 in. Marineland Double Bright LED Light - 8 x 1W white - 4 x .06W blue and was delighted when the light finally arrived.
The fixture packaging was simple, yet sturdy and protective of the light fixture. It comes with two parts: the main body and the power cord. Easy, no brainer, installation!
Just so you know, this light is going on top of a heavily planted, freshwater, 30 gallon tank, with the dimensions of, 30x18.5x12in. WxHxD
Look wise, what was truly attractive, was the body being slim and sleek. No more clunky hood to stare at anymore!
After reading the directions, a disappointing tidbit, was that Marineland (manufacturer label) required and recommended that the light be placed on a tank with clear acrylic or glass covers to...

Not displeased, but... (VERY displeased, actually: Please Read Edit)
I bought this light for a 55 gal. freshwater tank to replace the Marineland florescent lighting fixture. It's okay, but the light spectrum itself is quite a bit more yellow than I thought it would be. So, it would be nice to see a unit producing something closer to the blue-white, 10K range. The actinic spectrum/bulbs should also be doubled, in my opinion (which would also cut some of the yellowing). Overall, it's not as bright as I thought it would be either: maybe a "Triple Bright" version is in order. The shimmer effect is cool, and as a diver I can say that it really does closely approximate what it looks like to be underwater. However, for fish tank purposes, it's just too fast and not very relaxing.
EDIT: 12/1/2012: This fixture died last night. Two months after purchase... Sorry, but that's entirely unacceptable. I no longer recommend this light fixture in any way. Buy at your own risk.
Great low profile Lights
I bought two 24 inch lights for my 72 gallon bowfront which is 48 inches long. They lie end-to-end on the glass and work perfectly. Very bright, shimmery light and so low-profile they can hardly be seen!
